Abstract

Educational managers play a crucial role in disaster management within the educational sector. Here is an overview of their responsibilities and contributions that ranges from emergency preparedness planning, risk assessment, resources allocation, training and awareness, coordination with authorities, communication strategies, student and staff safety, recovery and continuity, psychosocial support, adaptation and improvement, community engagement and policy advocacy. However, this paper x-ray some ways through which educational manager can make positive contributions in ensuring the safety, preparedness, and effective response of educational institutions to various disasters with their leadership and coordination which are essential for creating a secure and resilient learning environment for students and staff. The paper recommends that Government should formulate and update policies that outline disaster management protocols specific to educational institutions, educational managers should create comprehensive emergency plans that address various types of disasters, and manager should also conduct regular training session for staff, students and stakeholders to enhance their awareness of disaster managements among others.
