Abstract

The paper examined public-private partnership in technical vocational education and training in Delta State, Nigeria. The study adopted Descriptive Survey research method. The population consists of (1,200) employees and the direct office of industrial training in Delta State. A random sampling technique was employed to select 400 participants and it includes 150 directors and 250 employees. 400 copies of the questionnaire were administered to respondents. Data collected were analyzed with means and standard deviation to answer the research questions using SPSS version 19 and t-test was used to test the hypotheses at 0.05 level of significance. The findings showed that, TVET programs aligned with industry needs through PPPs to improve graduate employability, internships and apprenticeships arranged through PPPs which increase the employment for technical vocational education and training. TVET graduates indicate that PPPs provide significant financial support for the development of TVET infrastructure. The paper concluded that, Internships and apprenticeships arranged through PPPs which increases the likelihood of employment for technical vocational education and training for TVET graduates, it is recommended that Government should establish strong partnerships between TVET institutions and industries to ensure that training programs match labor market needs, Private sector should invest in modern training facilities and tools to provide learners with hands-on experience using current technologies.
