Role of Digital Process in the Development of Creativity for Sustainable National Development

Abstract

This paper examined the importance of digital process in the development of creativity for sustainable national development by providing a brief explanation on sustainable development, creativity and digital creativity. The paper through the review of several related literatures identified the three basic needs of creativity in educational system, as teaching for basic creative thinking, relevant innovative skills and design of societal values. Some basic characteristics of creative persons such as smartness, playful, discipline were identified. Digital creativity was as the use of digital processes to generate, express, and communicate new and original ideas, products or solutions. The need for creativity to be included in Nigeria educational system was also stressed. The roles of digital processes in the development of creativity for national development were discussed and certain basic tips that can trigger creativity are recommended.
