School Plant Planning: An Indispensable Tool in Educational Goal Attainment in Nigeria

Abstract

There are so many factors that can lead to the actualization of educational goal ranging from human, materials, physical and financial resources. The concern of this paper is on the place of school plant planning in the educational goal attainment. The paper adopted literature review design considering the concept of school plant, factors to be considered while designing this school plant and constraints to effective school plant planning implementation. The paper concluded that instructional process can be exciting with the needs and aspirations of students and teachers met, if the school plant are adequately planned, provided and maintained. The following recommendations were made among others: that educational needs should be prioritized, resources are to be properly budgeted for and evenly distributed, school plant planners are to be well equipped for greater effectiveness and a functional maintenance program to be upheld.
